Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Tabreon: whether it is free, whether your files are uploaded, which tools run locally, and which need a brief server step.
Common questions
Tabreon is a browser-based utility platform with free tools for developers, creators and everyday tasks, including QR codes, JSON formatting, UUIDs, PDF and image tools. It needs no installation and no account.
Yes. The tools are free to use, with no account or sign-up required to run them.
For most tools, no. Processing happens in your browser, so the file stays on your device. A small number of tools need a brief server step, and each tool page says which applies.
HEIC, TIFF and SVG conversions and GIF to APNG use a short server step. Every tool page carries a badge showing whether it runs locally or needs that step, and the All tools page lists the badge for each tool.
Open your browser developer tools, go to the Network tab, run the tool on a file, and check that the file is not sent in any request. This works for any site that claims local processing.
No. Tools work without signing in. An optional account, using an emailed sign-in link, is only for features that need to remember something about you.
Not fully. Tabreon needs a connection to load a page. Once a local tool is open, it keeps working on your files even if the connection drops, because the processing happens in your browser.
For tools that run locally, your file never leaves your device, so contracts, IDs and financial documents are not sent to us. For the few tools with a server step, check the badge on the tool page first. If a document is highly sensitive, use a local tool and verify in the Network tab.
Yes, in a modern mobile browser. Heavy operations such as large files or video take longer on phones because your device does the work.
Because most processing runs on your device, there is no file-conversion server bill to pass on to you. Any advertising on the site is clearly labeled and sits beside content, not in front of your download.
